COVID-19 Update 20/07/2021

The Government's lifting of the remaining legal limits on social contact from 19 July 2021 doesn’t yet mean that everything will revert to life as it was before COVID. Dentists have been told by NHS England that health and care settings will need to continue to maintain appropriate infection prevention and control processes for the time being. This is due to health premises being higher risk environments, the still high infection levels and the Delta variant being more transmissible.

We will therefore continue to ask non-exempt patients to wear masks as well as limit patient time in the waiting room. We will also continue our thorough disinfection of entire surgeries between patients.

Our focus will remain on emergency appointments and necessary treatments, including hygiene treatments. Patients should consider postponing routine appointments such as check-ups. When making a booking for a routine appointment, your appointment time may be later in the year than you expected.

Patients with dental emergencies should call the surgery on 01276 472245 where our reception staff will assist. Out of hours (including weekends) patients should contact 111.

Due to extra infection prevention control procedures we are forced to reduce the number of treatments we can provide. Aerosol generating procedures (anything using a high speed drill) require extended fallow time after each treatment and this limits the number of treatments we can perform. We prioritise patients with the highest clinical need. If you require a treatment, please contact our reception in the first instance.

For everybody's safety we ask patients to:

  • Complete medical history and other forms online before coming to the surgery
  • Not to bring any unnecessary items such as shopping bags and jackets/coats
  • Check in by the front door and then wait outside until called; our reception staff will be assisting you
  • Attend your appointment unaccompanied, with the exception of minors or patients with carers
  • Pay in advance or by card on the day

In the current situation there is a lot of pressure on appointment times and we are fully booked most days. We therefore ask you to please give us a minimum of 48 hours notice if you need to change your appointment.

Patients must have an appointment before coming to the practice. Please call us on 01276 472245 for advice.

We regret that we won't be able to see patients showing any symptoms of COVID-19 such as a temperature or a cough.

We strongly recommend that patients in the high-risk groups for developing complications from coronavirus delay non-essential dental treatment for as long as possible until the trend of the pandemic becomes clear. To find out whether you are in a high or very high-risk group please see the link here.
